SFLM -Winter Edition 2018

The Zolla Boys!

The Zolla Boys are a bluegrass band from the Northwest corner of CT. The band consists of 13 and 14-year-old brothers Sam and Ben on mandolin and guitar,  and their father Larry playing bass.  These boys are very talented and have a great music career ahead of them. Check out there music and videos below!

The Modern Fools Band

Through their harnessed sound of cupboards left ransacked and warm beer on the table, Modern Fools delivers an original blend of indie-rock on the rocks, blues, country-fried soul and a sincere work ethic. With harmony-driven earnest howls and deliberate swells, they capture the egresses of love and tiresome gambles on the American frontier. Formed from the soils of the Northeast, Modern Fools have tapped their circuits to hot-wire their sound with members of New Hampshire’s most challenging acts (Ghost Dinner, Youngest Sun, Ol' Factory, & Run Gazelle Run). The quintet is slated to release their Self-Titled EP this Spring, with a full-length LP to follow in the year.

Erin Harpe and the Delta Swingers!

Charismatic singer and guitarist Erin Harpe, along with her band the Delta Swingers, have become favorites around New England, with a growing fan base around the world. Their unique brand of dance music is rooted in vintage 1930's Mississippi delta blues, then shaken and stirred with other genres like soul, funk, and reggae, evoking a wild southern juke joint where the whiskey and gin are flowing and everybody’s dancing.

Their debut album, “LOVE WHIP BLUES” is a refreshing, rootsy take on the blues, with songs about trains, hard luck and good luck, and of course (in the vein of Harpe’s other band, Lovewhip) shakin’ your booty. Ten swinging tracks include four originals, Harpe’s take on songs by 1930’s blues artists, and a very unorthodox version of the classic John Prine song, “Angel From Montgomery”, famously recorded by Bonnie Raitt. Produced by Dave Gross (Candye Kane, Chris O’Leary, Albert Castiglia, Gina Sicilia) at Fat Rabbit Studios, the album shows off the band’s signature Charles River Delta Blues – their own country blues/roots/americana cocktail – including an appearance by guest star guitarist Bob Margolin (Muddy Waters band).

Singer/Songwriter Katrin Roush

Katrin Roush is a singer/songwriter from the Boston, MA area.
