Lovewhip’s latest album, Love Electric, is a futuristic dance party complete with unicorns, icebots, intrigue, electronic sex toys, and rock'n'roll! Each song on the album is chock full of catchy hooks, mixing dancehall reggae with disco, pop and rock. The album was produced by Jake Zavracky (producer/composer, of the bands Cyanide Valentine and Quick Fix), and recorded in Boston and Brooklyn.
Lovewhip is dance music. The Boston Globe exclaims “Lovewhip has a celebratory and upbeat feel that has kept crowds dancing everywhere they play!” Lovewhip creates a live show that is rooted in fun with the passionate vocals and dance moves of the “soulful electro-rock diva” (says the Boston Phoenix) Erin Harpe a.k.a. Empress Erin. Able to get any room going by shaking her infamous booty, she also rips out screaming electric guitar riffs as she taunts and teases the crowd. Building on influences as diverse as Blondie, Beck, LCD Soundsystem, the B52’s and the Cars, Lovewhip has created a sound that people go crazy for.
The project of frontwoman/guitarist/singer Erin Harpe and bassist Jim Countryman, Lovewhip has been making eclectic dance music since their first release Whip It, Baby! in 2000. Lovewhip’s multicultural influences have ranged from Jamaican reggae and dancehall to Nigerian soukous and highlife, afrobeat, and more recently retro 80’s electro. “The overall concept has always been to lift people out of their daily drudgery and get them dancing and feeling good,” says Harpe. And that’s just what they’ve done, touring regularly around the country to great reactions and dancing crowds.

The Tony Soul Project is a hard driving dance band "from the Delta to Soul to Rock & Roll"
We have taken many of the standards of the Delta and surrounding areas and their influence & put a monstrous bass line & back beat to make the likes of Elmore, Muddy, T-Model, RL, Wolf, Hooker come to life.We have added many Motown & Stax Record tunes to our list & we dance all night long. Whether a venue, party, wedding or house party, you will be delighted with the sound & personality of this band made up of the finest musicians assembled anywhere.
What is the Tony Soul Project?
It is a unique blend of stylistic musicians from diverse backgrounds, melded together to provide Soul Music, yes Soul Music. James Brown, Otis, Wilson Pickett, Al Green, Stax & Motown. I grew up with it in the mean streets of Boston, where I would hang out and marvel at live music and the SHOW. Being a kid from the burbs, born in Milford, raised in Framingham I found soul music just too hard to resist. I blew all my free money on these 45rpm records at Big John's Record Shop right next to the Intermission Lounge where I eventually ended up playing as a nineteen year old. Then the tragedy. My best friend and lead guitar player John Smith was killed in a high speed pursuit on route 128 coming back from a gig and I quit, cold for 42 years. By chance, I got back into music at the ripe old age of 64. Nothing has changed. We are doing the some music, spiced with some updated material and the number of shows and our following in various areas of Massachusetts has made this a very worth while re-entry into the local music scene.

Adirondack Freight Train String Music aka Northern Hard Driving Contemporary Exploratory Bluegrass
Source: Facebook Band Page
The Blind Owl Band, from Saranac Lake, NY, in the Heart of The Adirondack Mountains in Upstate NY, are expanding their ground in 2015! Since inception in September of 2010, The Blind Owl Band has forged a unique sound with their stringed instruments. A relentless approach in all they do, whether a packed touring schedule or energy packed show. Get ready, for this freight train will not stop! “Although we look like a bluegrass band we are not. We are a musical representation of what sounds float around in our heads. We use the instruments of our ancestors, but play music of our time, influenced by all that has happened in the musical world over the past 26 years. We achieve a unique personal sound through a raw instrumentation. In a time of perfection and an expansion of the realm through digital processors, we hope to inspire use of wood and metal. To take a basic approach and expanded it to a sound all its own.”
The Blind Owl Band, call this Freight Train String Music, it would fall under the broader category of Northern Contemporary Bluegrass. The band pushes this music concept from all 4 sides from start to finish of each performance
The band is a 4 piece string band, featuring Arthur Buezo (Guitar, Vocals), Christian Cardiello, (Double Bass, Fretless Bass), James Ford, (Banjo Vocals) and Eric Munley (Mandolin, Vocals). The band views their traditional arrangement as just the start of the musical concept. There is no one conductor of this band, but four shovel boys pushing the limits of their engine.
In just under three years the band has released their debut album "Rabble Rousing" a 15 track album featuring all original music. Just this past July the band also released the follow up This Train We Ride is Made of Wood and Steel, a 12 track, completely original album, displaying the continued development of the band.
It has been a positive start for the Blind Owl Band. They look forward to expanding new grounds in 2015 both on the surface of the earth, and in the noise in the air! Get ready for Adirondack Freight Train String Music!

Original bluesy hard rock improv power trio music
Source: Facebook Band Page - Edited!
In the year 1999 the Seth Yacavone Band became a power trio of Coggio, Hadeka and Yacovone. Upon this change, the group would now be billed as Seth Yacovone Band. SYB (as the group would be sometimes called), would play even more shows per year and take things further both musically and geographically. The songs were less traditional and began to incorporate Funk, Rock, Country, Jazz and Metal influences into its bluesy sound. Group improvisation soon became a large part of the group’s live shows where the three members would take chances and leave structure behind in the spirit of seeing where the music could and would go.
A sound largely influenced by the Allmans, Santana,
Grateful Dead and Phish but also inclined to get darker and louder in the spirt of Crazy Horse, Black Sabbath and Band of Gypsys naturally evolved. As the group gelled and played more and more together it harnessed a chemistry and a way of playing that only can happen with these three players. Lyrically, the songs were less silly and more heartfelt and meaningful due to the influence of Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Band and due to the fact that Yacovone was maturing as a songwriter and performer.
In June of 2013, a new version of the Seth Yacovone Band has formed and returned to the live music world. Seth and Steve and have joined forces with Alex Budney (formerly of the Pulse Prophets, Bad Suit) forming a new power trio, focusing on new material and material that might not have gotten its due in the past, as well as some favorites of the early SYB days. Together Steve and Alex create a thunderous rhythm section to drive Yacovone’s songs and the group’s improvisations even further
